At the end of May we are preparing an important moment for Matteo Children’s Center Association: the event "Matteo Center - Together for children with rare diseases", organized in Bragadiru, Ilfov, between May 30 and June 1.
For us, these three days mean more than a public gathering. They are a concrete step toward clearer and better-connected support: better services for children, more guidance for families, stronger collaboration with specialists, and a more involved local community.
Why we are organizing this event
From Matteo’s family’s lived experience, we understood how fragmented a family’s path can become when searching for assessment, therapy, emotional support, and access to services. The Bragadiru event is our way of bringing to the same table exactly the people who can make a difference: children, parents, professionals, authorities, volunteers, and partners.
We want a real support network to form around Matteo Center, not only a one-time conversation.
What the three days will look like
May 30 - Community and children day
The first day is dedicated to meeting families and children who need a warm, accessible, friendly space. We are preparing creative workshops, social games, sensory activities, outdoor recreational moments, and an open session for parents about the directions in which Matteo Center is growing.
The focus will not be formality, but closeness, trust, and the first contact with a community that wants to stay near.
May 31 - Professionals and partners day
The second day brings the dialogue between specialists and institutions to the center. We will host a seminar about access to integrated services for children with rare diseases, followed by an applied discussion with professionals, NGOs, school representatives, and local authorities.
We are especially interested in local solutions: how services can be better connected, what barriers families meet, and how a more coherent response can be built around the child.
June 1 - Official launch of Matteo Center
June 1 marks the most visible part of the event: the official launch of Matteo Center. The program will include an opening conference, guest contributions, presentation of the center’s vision, a guided tour of the space, and activities dedicated to children.
We hope this day brings both public visibility and the clear feeling that Matteo Center has a community around it that is ready to support it.
Who we want close
The event is designed for:
- families looking for support for children diagnosed with rare diseases;
- specialists in health, education, and social services;
- local authorities and institutions;
- partner organizations, volunteers, and supporters;
- people in the community who want to better understand what real support for rare diseases means.
What we hope remains after these days
After June 1, we hope more remains than photographs or a festive moment. The stake is larger: stronger partnerships, more trust from families, visibility for the needs of children with rare diseases, and a steadier beginning for Matteo Center.
If you want to learn more about the event or the association’s activity, you can write to us through the contact page.
